Mahabaleshwar
Sooner in March I will be completing my one year stay in Pune. It was last year in March that I shifted my base to Pune (from Oman). I must confess that there are several factors that fascinate me about the city. Pleasant weather, irresistible gastronomic outlets, lush, green surroundings and lot more.
Monkeys welcoming visitors at Kate Point...make sure you do not carry any eatables, these hosts don't mind snatching and feasting over whatever edibles they get hands on
Mapro Strawberry Garden...U will get to experience some of the freshest and sweetest strawberries here
Boating at Venna lake is one of the most popular and refreshing activities that you should not miss
Pune is the fortunate city that is surrounded by several scenic destinations . The ever lively city offers you a chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and experience refreshing get away. Some of the nearby hill stations that serve as ideal weekend getaways include Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Matheran, Khandala etc. These spots lie within range of 100 kms to 120 kms of the Pune city.
On the eve of the new year I got a chance to explore one such destination- Mahabaleshwar. Located in the Satara district of Maharashtra, Mahabaleshwar is one of the famous tourists attractions. Nestled at a height of nearly 1300 feet above the sea level, the spot has some breathtaking views that will mesmerise you.
Although I am not a very keen photographer, the picturesque landscapes and stunning views at Mahabaleshwar compelled a reluctant person like me to capture the nature's beauty in my camera.
I have posted pictures of some of the spots that I could explore in a short time frame. There are several other tourist spots and points at Mahabaleshwar that one can explore.
Picturesque view from Kate Point...it offers an amazing view of the Krishna Valley and waters of Dhom Dam and Balakwadi

Arthur's seat viewpoint...also known as 'Queen of all Points' is surrounded by deep Savitri gorge on one side and lush, green plateau on the other side. The views are greener and more beautiful during rainy season.
Vendors selling interesting tit bits at Arthur's point make your visit more delightful
Serene Venna Lake, Mahabaleshwar
It's very precise and articulate write-up as if the same like mature and senior columnist.
