The first time I visited the aquarium in Dubai Mall I was totally mesmerized by the micro sea world created on land. The very concept of huge aquarium gives you a chance to experience the sea world. For people like me with no swimming skills and worst with water phobia can actually get a glimpse of the amazing and enchanting sea world.

The captivating aquarium with all variety of sea creatures makes it worth a watch. This very fascination with the large aquarium made me search for larger aquariums of the world. I am sharing some of the largest aquariums info with my readers.Hope you like it.

Georgia Aquarium In Atlanta

• The aquarium contains more than 1,00,000 fishes and other sea creatures.
• It is the home to nearly 500 different species of sea creatures including sharks, whales and countless others.
• All these creatures reside in the water tank with the capacity of 10 million gallons of marine and fresh water.
• The aquarium has been divided into six different galleries that includes Georgia explorer, Tropical Diver, Ocean Voyager, Cold Water Quest, River Scout and Dolphin tales.
• Each section houses specific species of sea animal. Some of them includes dolphins, whales, sharks, African penguins and also the smaller ones like the Japanese water crabs, sea dragons, sea horses, jelly fish, turkey fish, lobsters and several other tropical fishes.
• The dolphin gallery with indoor dolphin stadium hosts nearly three dolphin shows every day. Informative and educational videos on dolphins are parts of the 30-minute show.
•  Making the aquarium more interesting and educational, the concept of an interactive, open ocean touch wall has been introduced for identification of species. This a virtual aquarium where fully articulated 3-D renderings of Open ocean fish swim across six panels which are assembled to simulate a tank. The visitors when place their hand on a fish, content bubbles appear displaying information about the species they chose.

• It is located in Dubai mall which is one of the world’s largest shopping malls.
• The gigantic tank houses more than 33,000 sea creatures including over 400 sharks and rays combined.
• The tank has the capacity to hold 2,64 million gallons of water.
• It has earned the guinness world record of the largest acrylic panel with measurements 8.3 by 32.88 meter and thickness 75 meters thick.

Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium

• It is located within the Ocean Expo Park in Japan.
•  The main tank of the aquarium has been termed as Kuroshio sea and it has the capacity of 1,98 million gallons of water.
•  When it was opened in 2002 it featured the largest panel in the world with acrylic glass panel measuring 8.2 by 22.5 meters and thickness being 60 centimeters.

L’Oceanografic (1,85 million gallons)

Located inside the Valencia, Spain it is the largest aquarium in Europe housing more than 45000 marine creatures.

Turkuazoo(1,32million gallons)

• Located in Forum Istanbul Mall, Turkey.
• The underwater tunnel with capacity of 5 million litres of water houses more than 10,000 creatures including tiger sharks, giant stingrays and several others.
